I want us to fit in.
Was sent screeners for the first three episodes of Marvel’s “WandaVision”. It’s a fun nostalgia trip through classic TV with some great moments of dread-inducing, climactic curtain pulls. Each with a fake, MCU-infused commercial to boot.
I’m a little surprised folks will have to wait a week for episode three, though, since first two are a bit redundant and could turn off people growing bored of the aesthetic. So, definitely stick with things until at least the third installment.
And, now that I’ve finished the full season: it was fine!
Deals with grief better than the MCU has before and Elizabeth Olsen is pretty great throughout as Wanda. Unfortunately, the Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) stuff felt rushed and Monica (Teyonah Parris) stuff felt half-baked while leading to what’s next (don’t miss the stinger).
A lot of hurry-up-and-wait with some effective character study mixed in.
